Just say Faux! (rhymes with "no")
To be precise, faux(that's fancy for "fake") finishes mimic real things, like marble, wood, or aged plaster. In modern usage, faux is the generic term for any decorative paint treatment on your walls and elsewhere. Both are included here. A lot of faux finishes are too subtle for my photography skills (or lack thereof), so ask to see actual samples. Or, tell me what you want to mimic, and I'll see what I can come up with...rusty tin, mossy rock, weathered barn board...
